The Iowa Grocers Education Foundation will award scholarships in the amount of $1,800 to students who are children of full-time employees or $900 scholarships to students who are full-time or part-time employees of firms that are members of the Iowa Grocery Industry Association.
Additional Scholarships Available to Students Meeting the IGEF Program Eligibility Include: § 50 – Beckwith Foundation Scholarships ($2,000 each) § 4 – Gary & Lucy Dietrich Scholarships ($500 each) § 3 – F.W. Beckwith Scholarships ($750 each) § 3 – Wally's Food Pride Scholarships ($500 each) § 2 – JW's Foods Scholarships ($750 each) § 2 – Perishable Distributors of Iowa Awards ($500 each) § Grocery Manufacturers Association Award ($500) § Ken Uglum Memorial Scholarship ($500) § Mary I. Who is Eligible? High school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are:
Scholarship winners will be chosen by the Scholarship Selection Committee of the Iowa College Foundation and notified by mail of the results of the competition in late April. Scholarship recipients must be attending college full-time in the year in which the scholarships are awarded and continue in school for the entire academic year without interruption, barring illness, emergency or military service.
Deadline Applicants must complete an application and submit it by March 1, 2010, to be considered for a scholarship. The Iowa College Foundation (company information below) must also have received an up-to-date transcript by the application deadline of March 1, 2010, for any applicant to be considered for a scholarship.
