IGIA and Department of Labor Hold NEW Webinar, “Avoiding COVID-Related Labor Violations”

JUST ANNOUNCED!

IGIA and Department of Labor Hold NEW Webinar, “Avoiding COVID-Related Labor Violations”

Don’t miss it: 9 a.m., April 29

FREE to all IGIA members, the newly announced webinar, “Avoiding COVID-Related Labor Violations,” to be held 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on April 29, features Melissa Wright, community outreach and resource planning specialist from the Wage & Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor.

Wright will speak about common violations the department is seeing due to COVID-related actions. According to the Department of Labor, companies are initiating policies/procedures intended to help employees and incentivize their work during the pandemic, which sounds like a good idea, but in doing so they are inadvertently causing labor law violations. Wright will walk participants through the violations the department has been seeing and how to ensure your company remains in compliance with the law.

The webinar will allow time for Wright to answer participant questions so come ready with any questions you might have regarding any COVID-related or other labor concerns in the workplace.

To register, email your name and company name to Annie Schlink, events and education coordinator, at aschlink@iowagrocers.com by 4:30 p.m. April 26. You will then be sent a Zoom link to join the webinar.
