IGIA Women’s Network Event Scheduled for June 11

Join us, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11 at Johnson Brothers of Iowa, located at 6600 Merle Hay Rd, in Johnston, Iowa for a daylong event featuring presenters Treva Graves and Jean Berger.

As a communication and image coach Graves has worked with captains of industry and executives, creating a “total image” for her clients. Berger was the first woman to be named executive director of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Learn from the valuable insights she gained forging her own path where no woman had been before. The cost to learn from these two informative and interesting speakers is only $35/person. Register by 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019, to attend. Your advance registration is greatly appreciated so we can plan accordingly for meals and materials.  

Should you have the need to cancel your event registration before the June 4 deadline, a written notice to the IGIA Office is required for the refund to be processed. Treva Graves

Treva Graves has been creating the “total image” for her clients, both personally and professionally since 1997. She has worked with captains of industry and executives across a range of business models, and all of that experience allows her to help her clients build an image. Treva guides her clients as each one becomes the total package through the development of presentation skills and professional etiquette, the reduction of foreign accent and improvement of speech and voice, and interview coaching and customer service training. Treva is a certified communication and image coach, a certified leadership facilitator, and a collaborative partner with Precision Leadership Group, where she and her team provide comprehensive business communication services for companies both large and small. With Treva, your increased success is inevitable.

Jean Berger

Berger was named the fifth IGHSAU executive director in 2016. Prior to joining the staff, she was the associate athletic director at the University of Northern Iowa from 2008 to 2016, serving as the direct supervisor for five Panther sports: women's basketball, softball, tennis, soccer and volleyball. She also oversaw academic services and athletic training while monitoring Northern Iowa's gender equity plans. Berger also served 17 years at Drake University in a variety of roles, including senior women's athletics administrator, assistant athletic director for internal affairs and associate athletic director. Nationally, Berger was the Missouri Valley Conference representative to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Issue Committee and served on the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee. She served a term on the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Committee in 2012 as well as in the sports information office at Wichita State and was the sports information director at Wayne State from 1985 to 1990. A Winterset native, Berger is a graduate of the University of Iowa, earning a bachelor's degree in journalism with a master's degree in physical education and sports studies.
