EBT System Down 1 a.m. Saturday Jan. 21

Iowa's EBT Director Tracy Penick notified IGIA that the EBT contractor will conduct an annual disaster test of the Iowa EBT system on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1 a.m. This test requires the entire EBT system to shut down at the primary site in Texas and switch over to a backup site in Pittsburgh. This is a requirement set forth in the EBT contract to ensure the system will continue to operate in the case of a disaster. This test will be conducted at 1a.m. to prevent a hardship for EBT retailers and clients. Past tests have been completed in less than five minutes.

You can contact the IGIA office, 800.383.3663, or Tracy Penick, EBT Director | Adult, Children & Family Services | 515-281-4935, for more information or for answers to any questions you might have.
