IGIA Announces New Natural Gas Buying Program
Natural gas prices at seven-year low, bring predictability & potential savings to your bottom line

Dear Iowa Grocery Industry Association Retail and Supplier Members:

To bring more value to your Iowa Grocery Industry Association membership, the IGIA has entered into a partnership endorsement with Seminole Energy Services, LLC to provide a natural gas program for IGIA members that will bring cost predictability and potential savings to your bottom line.

Earlier this year, the Iowa Utilities Board approved new tariffs allowing commercial businesses to buy gas from someone other than their present utility. The large industrials, schools and government entities have been buying gas from third party suppliers for over 12 years, and now it’s your turn to take advantage of these services and cost savings.

To better inform IGIA members of their potential savings, the IGIA will be holding meetings across Iowa with Seminole Energy Services that will include presentations and discussions about the following:
  • Who is Seminole Energy Services?
  • How can they provide your natural gas savings?
  • What other services do they provide?
  • What benefits can your company realize?
Seminole Energy representatives will be available to answer your questions. For the best evaluation on whether your business will save money on natural gas, I would highly encourage you to bring 12 months of natural gas bills or, if you are a MidAmerican Energy customer, just bring a copy of your bill with the account number on it and Seminole Energy representatives will be able to look it up online.

We have four meetings scheduled:
  • Monday, Sept. 14 in Clive (Des Moines area): Wildwood Lodge (11431 Forest Avenue) from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 16 in Coralville: Holiday Inn (1220 1st Avenue) from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 16 in Davenport: Best Western (100 West 76th Street) from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 18 in Omaha, Neb.: Qwest Center (Room 212) from 3:30-4:45 p.m.
Please RSVP to Carolyn Bahnsen in the IGIA office by calling 515-270-2628 or e-mailing cbahnsen@iowagrocers.com by Wednesday, September 9, at 5 p.m., so we have enough snacks and beverages for everyone. Just let us know which meeting you will be attending.

PLEASE NOTE: Because the Iowa Utility Board has not approved the program for municipal utilities, your business will not be eligible for the IGIA/Seminole program if it is supplied by a municipal utility.

If you cannot make a meeting but are interested in seeing what benefits Seminole Energy Services has to offer, please contact myself or Michelle Hurd in the IGIA office at jfleagle@iowagrocers.com or mhurd@iowagrocers.com, respectively. We will put you in touch with Seminole Energy representatives.

We look forward to seeing you at one of the upcoming meetings that will display the benefits available to your company through Seminole’s services.

Sincerely,

Jerry Fleagle
IGIA President
