The Brazilian 2wins | Monday, July 9, 6:30 – 9 p.m.
(The strolling duo will perform from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. and the amplified full band will perform from 8 – 9 p.m.)
With life stories as inspiring as their music, Walter and Wagner Caldas have a mission to positively impact the world and bring a smile to everyone they meet. Born in the neighborhood of Niteroi in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, these twin brothers have overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. The favelas, or shantytowns, built into the sides of hills nearby, were prime territory for drug cartels to find worthy henchmen. Drugs and violence were part of everyday life, often making it difficult for the duo to find reasons to smile. That's why bringing light and positivity to the world is so important to them now.
Brazilian twin brothers Walter and Wagner found solace in classical music on violins their father hand made. Their love of music and desire to positively impact the world led them on a wild ride to Des Moines, Iowa, to perform at the World Food prize ceremony. In the audience was the then president of the University of Northern Iowa, Ben Allen, who offered the twins a full-ride scholarship for music education.
Since then, the talented duo has been exciting audiences worldwide with their distinctive appearance and approach. Drawing influence from a plethora of genres, the Brazilian 2wins have carved out their own signature sound and a truly unforgettable, explosive live show that targets the masses. The Brazilian 2wins are redefining live music and will share their amazing talents with us at the opening night of the 2018 IGIA GetConnected Convention. You don't want to miss it!
