Pseudoephedrine Control Law
Here is a link to the state's web page on the Pseudoephedrine Control Law. We believe it is pretty comprehensive, and easily readable. As we get closer to the May 21 deadline you may have more questions that this site can answer for you.
The new law states retailers must post notification in a clear and conspicuous manner in a location where a pseudoephedrine product is offered for sale stating the following:
“Iowa law prohibits the over-the-counter purchase of more than one package of a product containing pseudoephedrine in a 24-hour period, or more than 7,500 milligrams of pseudoephedrine within a 30-day period. If you purchase a product containing pseudoephedrine, you are required to sign a logbook which may be accessible to law enforcement officers.”
IGIA has included 2 sizes of notification posters that you can link to and print off additional copies of the poster to display in your store.
5 x 7 Pseudoephedrine Notification
8 x 10 Pseudoephedrine Notification
