Grocers Fill Echo Valley Country Club for the 2018 IGIA Fall Golf Classic

Approximately 140 IGIA members and their guests filled the Echo Valley Country Club in Norwalk, Iowa, on Thursday, Sept. 20 for the 2018 IGIA Fall Golf Classic.

The group turned out to support the IGIA as well as raise funds for GroPAC, the Grocers Political Action Committee. Teams were able to purchase mulligans, compete for a cash prize by winning a putting contest sponsored by Principal Financial and purchase raffle tickets for a $750 grilling package, raising approximately $2,270 for GroPAC.

A 10 a.m. shotgun start kicked off the event and golfers wrapped up play around 3:30 p.m. Golfers enjoyed warm weather, networking and a challenging course as well as burgers for lunch. Golfers gathered in the clubhouse at the conclusion of the tournament for an awards ceremony including prizes, refreshments and appetizers.

“The IGIA Fall Golf Tournament provides a good forum for making valuable business connections while having a truly enjoyable time,” says IGIA President Michelle Hurd. “This event provides ample opportunities to network, build new friendships and catch up with old friends.”
