ASPARAGUS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS
Since 1990, the Asparagus Club Scholarship Program has provided over $850,000 in scholarships to students preparing for careers in the grocery industry. In just the past five years, the Asparagus Club has awarded over $100,000 to young men and women who have set out on the road to careers in the grocery industry.
The Asparagus Club scholarships are one-year awards for collage sophomores, juniors and graduate students that range in amounts of $1,500 up to $3,000, for up to two years. The awards may be used at any accredited, non-profit college or university in the United States for students who will be entering their senior year.
Should you know of any young people who are in college pursuing a career in the food industry, particularly the independent community focused retail or wholesale sectors, and whom you feel would be a genuine asset to the industry, please contact the Baton Rouge Area Foundation at 877-387-6162 or www.braf.org for more information, eligibility requirements and application information. The cut-off date for entry is June 20.
