2010 Iowa Grocery Industry Association Convention
Mark the dates, block off your calendar and plan to be at Lake Okoboji from Wednesday, July 7, to Friday, July 9.
That is when the 2010 Iowa Grocery Industry Association Convention will be held in Okoboji, Iowa. The annual event is a can’t miss with all the networking and educational opportunities available. The convention has everything from top level industry executives to highly rated speakers to golf tournaments. It’s the perfect blend of business and social interaction.
The 2010 IGIA Convention Committee selected the theme of “Passport to Prosperity” for this year’s event. In the New Year comes a new decade with new opportunities and the committee is putting an emphasis on all the exciting, new possibilities the immediate future holds for the grocery industry.
To help showcase this excitement and put things in perspective, talented speakers such as Desi Williamson and Drew McLellan will help highlight the list of presenters. Williamson is an empowering speaker who inspires teams to raise their standards of performance while cultivating and developing better leaders. Not only does his presentations show people how they can do more than survive tough times, but they show them how to succeed despite their adversities.
McLellan is a master in the world of branding and marketing, and he goes to great lengths to help his clients discover their brand so they can create authentic love affairs with their customers. He discusses topics such as “Your Brand is not Your Logo,” “Marketing Mistakes You Can’t Afford to Make” and “Welcome to the Age of Conversation,” which dives into the power of the Internet and the realm of social media.
Hotels being utilized again this year included the Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center (headquarters of the convention), AmericInn and Bridges Bay Resort. Priority reservations for these three facilities will be accepted through June 1 for IGIA members registering to attend the convention. All hotels rooms are filled and booked by the Iowa Grocery Industry Association, so there is the possibility that you will not be able to stay at your first choice of hotels if you miss the June 1 reservation deadline.
IGIA group rates will be honored seven days prior and following the convention. This gives those who want to plan a family vacation in Okoboji around the convention the ability to do so at discounted rates. All reservations must be coordinated through the IGIA office and are based on availability.
