2008 Iowa Grocery Industry Association Convention
It is time to start planning for the 2008 Iowa Grocery Industry Association Convention. Several details have already been worked out for this year’s Convention, and it promises to be one of the best yet.
The event itself has been pushed back a week and will be held July 9-11 at its usual location in Lake Okoboji, Iowa. This prevents the Fourth of July from creating any conflicts as well as restoring the Wednesday-Thursday-Friday format from a few years back.
In addition, a few speakers have already been lined up, including former Food Marketing Institute Senior Vice President Michael Sansolo and multifaceted speaker Rob Bell. These two are extraordinary speakers at the national level and the IGIA is truly honored to be able to gain their presence at its state convention. They are sure to raise the IGIA Convention to a higher level. Also highlighting the list of speakers will be Iowa native and former NBA professional Fred Hoiberg, commonly referred to as “The Mayor” in the state of Iowa for his success at Ames High School and Iowa State University.
Another aspect the IGIA is proud to announce is the addition of Bridges Bay Resort to its hotel accommodations options. Bridges Bay will serve as the third hotel option available alongside Arrowwood Resort and AmericInn. It is an ideal place to stay for convention goers who want to bring their families. Bridges Bay features a brand new outdoor pool with a waterfront cafe and island bar opening in summer of the 2008. An indoor water park – Boji Splash – also helps raise the resorts popularity since it provides fun throughout the entire year.
The online registration process for the 2008 IGIA Convention is currently available. Printer friendly versions of the registration forms as also available for download from the Internet or look from them in upcoming issue of the Scanner newsletter and iowa grocer magazine.
